The Formal Dining Room Server facilitates attentive, efficient service to our members. This position is responsible for communicating the daily specials to the members and assisting the members with placing food and drink orders, in addition to ongoing table maintenance. Since it is a fine dining environment, we aim to portray and exceed the Big Canyon Country Club standards of service. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask and prioritize needs of our members while maintaining composure, focus, productivity and professionalism. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide information to members about a la carte menus, wines & spirits, reservations, upcoming events, and special requests
  • Learn details of a la carte menus and weekly specials 
  • Explain ingredients of dishes, preparation techniques and available substitution
  • Accurately taking members' food and drink orders and answer questions relating to menus and specials 
  • Ensuring that the Members are completely satisfied with the food served
  • Prepares room for dining by polishing silver, setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  • Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen using POS system
  • Identifying Members special dietary needs and special requests; communicate with kitchen and bar staff 
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression in the POS 
  • Serves orders by picking up and delivering Members choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Accurately charge member accounts for items consumed 

 Desired Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous server experience required
  • Fine Dining experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, guest relations, service styles, and etiquette such as appropriate table settings, the sequence of service, & wine service
  • Ability to do wine service at table side while maintaining professionalism and engaging in conversation with club member(s)
  • Available to work holidays, weekends and AM/PM shifts
  • Must have previous knowledge on a point of sale (POS) system 
  • Food Handler's Card 

Salary: $17-$20 hourly depending on experience
