The Front servers facilitates attentive, efficient service to the members. The front server is responsible for communicating the daily specials to the members. Assisting the members with placing food and drink orders. In addition to ongoing table maintenance. Communicating professionally to Members in line with proper Big Canyon standards of service. The position requires attention to detail, follow through and the ability to multitask and prioritize needs while maintaining composure, focus and productivity

Duties and Responsibilities

Front Server position is responsible for but is not limited to..

  • Communicating to the membership about their wants and needs relating to the a la carte menus, wines & spirits, reservations, upcoming events, and special requests
  • Telling the Members about the additional information related to the food items that have been ordered
  • Taking the orders of various kinds of dishes wanted by the Members sitting at the tables located inside or outside the restaurant
  • Telling the Members about the taste and quantity of the food items that have been ordered by them
  • Doing everything possible to ensure that the Members feel free, safe and comfortable while eating and during their time at Big Canyon
  • Ensuring that the Members are completely satisfied with the food served
  • Prepares room for dining by polishing silver, setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  • Protects establishment and Members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Helps Members select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
  • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording Members choices; identifying Members special dietary needs and special requests in the POS
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression in the POS by firing courses
  • Serves orders by picking up and delivering Members choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments.
  • Responds to additional Member requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting proper member charges; delivering bill

 Desired Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of serving with preference for experience in fine dining restaurant settings
  • Intermediate knowledge of food and beverage preparation, guest relations, service styles, and tiquette such as appropriate table settings, the sequence of service, & wine service
  • Ability to do wine service at table side while maintaining professionalism and engaging in conversation with member(s)
  • Mandatory to work on all holiday's, weekends and day shifts
  • Must have previous knowledge on a point of sale (POS) system and have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to our POS System
  • Food Handler's Card
