Position Description

 

Job Title:  The prep cook assists in preparing dishes in the kitchen.  This position is responsible for setting up work stations and arranging ingredients to according to recipes.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves
  • Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Following the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Preparing cooking ingredients (i.e. washing/chopping vegetables)
  • Preparing simple dishes (i.e. salads, entrees)
  • Ensuring all food and other items are stored correctly
  • Responsible for maintaining clean work station
  • Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by Chefs

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience in fast-paced kitchen. High-end restaurant dining experience a plus
  • Experience working in all stations on a hot line
  • Ability to work nights and holidays  

 

Physical/Environmental Demands:

Requires lifting up to 40 lbs. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and work in high temperature kitchens.

Work Environment:

Primarily in-door dining service.  Occasionally out-door terrace dining service.  Occasionally service at other Club venues including pool, tennis court, health club and golf course.

 

Salary: $16-18 depending on experience
