The Catering Manager provides catering and event services to the members.  This position reports to the Director of Catering. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and sells events to members to maximize revenue and member satisfaction
  • Work with members to plan and implement events for an upscale catering department including: negotiating contracts with members; developing and recommending menus and wine lists; recommending refinements such as floral arrangements, table settings, room arrangements and appointments; recommending the purchase of equipment, entertainment and supplies; assuring the quality of the product and service provided is to BCCC and member standards
  • Coordinate all internal and external resources required for events including: planning and executing weekly BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings; arranging preparation and delivery of food and wine; coordinating room setup and dcor; procuring rentals and entertainment; assuring appropriate staff and staffing levels; coordinating housekeeping and cleaning of areas after events.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility during events, consistently following up with the member in charge of the event and assisting staff when needed
  • Handle feedback and complaints from members in an efficient and courteous manner, completing a customer complaint form and providing recommendations for the future
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOP's)
  • Establish good relationships with vendors and negotiate the best possible prices for member events while maintaining high BCCC standards
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork and motivate lead and direct service staff in the execution of events based on member expectations
  • Enter all information into catering systems in a timely manner
  • Completes event Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and ensures they are delivered in a timely and accurate fashion. Ensures that Pop-up's are sent out immediately upon booking
  • Work closely with the Chef's and Sommelier to plan and coordinate the food and wine details of catered events; determine and communicate specifications and quantities of goods to order; follow through on planning to ensure a smooth and flawless execution of the event
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Director of Catering or Assistant General Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be computer literate and proficient with POS units and Microsoft Office.
  • Must understand and have experience using Banquet Event Order (BEO) generation software.
  • Excel in verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced Food, Beverage, and Service knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with high efficiency.


Prefer college degree in related field or equivalent experience of at least two years.

Experience, certifications, licenses, etc.:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years full time work experience as a Catering Manager or Catering Supervisor which included a minimum of 3 years as a supervisor in a large commercial restaurant, hotel, catering, or institution is required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

 Special Requirements:

Schedule Notes:

  • Normal Schedule is 10am-6:30pm Tuesday-Saturday and schedule per events on Saturdays and Sundays

 Dress Code:

  • Conservative business attire and shoes (open toe shoe not permitted for safety reasons)
  • Golf attire during pre-approved events
  • Formal attire as required

Work Environment:

Indoor, outdoor restaurant and kitchen environment.

Salary:  Will Range between $45,000 to $50,000 depending on experience
